TREATMENTS

  • DERMAPLANING

Dermaplaning is a safe and effective way of manually exfoliating the skin. A sterile surgical blade is used to remove 3-4 weeks worth of dead skin cells. The vellus hair or ‘peach fuzz’ is also removed during the treatment giving the skin a smooth appearance. Vellus hair traps dirt and oils, so whilst the main aim of Dermaplaning is exfoliation, it does have added benefits.

Due to the removal of dead skin cells and the barrier that they were creating, your products will be much more effective as your absorption levels will be elevated. After this pain free procedure, your skin will be smooth, fresh, hydrated and glowing.

  • MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling is where a mechanical Dermapen device creates tiny, superficial puncture wounds to the skin. Once these micro injuries are created our body fights to repair itself by producing collagen and elastin. The result? Firmer, smoother and younger looking skin.

Microneedling is used to treat Acne scarring, lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, large pores etc. MN can create the ultimate skin transformations. It is a great anti-aging treatment to try before considering injectables.

MN is used in conjunction with Mesotherapy cocktails for added benefits as well as providing a slip so that the skin is not scratched or damaged during the treatment.

  • CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical peels are a form of exfoliation. Don’t be put off by the name! A solution is applied to your face depending on your skin concern e.g. Acne, texture, ageing, Melasma, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, scarring etc. The chemical process removes dry, dull and damaged skin to reveal fresh, new, smoother and brighter skin underneath.

We offer 2 different types of peels that have minimal to no downtime in the clinic, one is a chemical peel containing TCA/AHA/BHA/PHA and the other is a biological algae peel that works from the inside out!

We also offer The Cosmelan peel which is the world’s leading de-pigmentation peel. This programme is truly life changing, achieving the most beautiful results on even the most stubborn types of pigmentation which is notoriously difficult to treat. The overall condition of the skin is left looking radiant, brighter, tighter, more even, younger… a truly transformative programme.

  • STEAMING

A facial steamer is used primarily to soften congestion and blackheads, gently softening the plugs and releasing them from follicular openings. This in turn makes the extraction phase much more comfortable and effective. However, there are other fantastic benefits to facial steaming including hydration, increased circulation allowing delivery of oxygen to the cells and elevated product absorption due to the warming of the skin.

  • EXTRACTIONS

An extraction is the process of cleaning a clogged or compacted pore of dirt, oils, dead skin cells and debris.

  • MILIA REMOVAL

Milia are small bumps that usually appear around the eyes, cheeks and chin. The develop when a build-up of keratin get trapped under the skins surface and aren’t able to expel themselves. These are harmless and are usually easy removed in minutes by a professional.

  • LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Lymphatic drainage is a light massage used to increase the flow of lymph and assist in the reduction of toxins in the body. The Lymphatic system helps us to fight off infection, so it is important to aid the flow as it often gets stagnant. It is a vital process within the body. It is a fantastic treatment for those with fluid build-up as it helps to reduce puffiness. We use various manual and electrical tools during treatments to stimulate the lymphatic system such as vacuum suction and cupping, giving it much needed helping hand.

  • i-PRF/PRP

Platelet Rich Fribrin (PRF) or Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment that involves the use of your bodies own platelets. It works by stimulating your skin and subcutaneous tissues which helps to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles.

PRF/PRP contains very high concentrations of white blood cells, fibrin and a small amount of stem cells found circulating in our bloodstreams.

A highly rejuvenating treatment using your body’s own goodness. Truly transformative.

    How does it work?

To create i-PRF/PRP a small sample of blood is taken from the patient and is spun in a special machine at a low speed so that the layers of the blood do not separate out as distinctly.

This allows some of the white blood cells and stem cells to remain within the platelet layer, instead of being separated.

Fibrin is a response to an injury anywhere in the body. Platelets circulating in the blood will bind to a scaffold of fibrin. When platelets bind to the fibrin scaffold, growth factors are released. This starts the wound healing process by creating new skin cells, collagen and blood vessels. By injecting PRF into an area on the face or scalp, a controlled inflammatory response is created, which kick starts new cell growth, hair growth and collagen production.

This concentrated mix is what is responsible in medicine for healing bones and fixing cuts in our body. When used in aesthetics, we can place it in a targeted area and the area is stimulated to self-heal and improve skin tone, volume and texture without any added chemicals or fillers.

The use of Blood Concentrates is becoming more and more popular in medical Aesthetics. Patients like the idea of using their own cells instead of a synthetic alternative in their quest for a younger and fresher look.

We combine the treatment with different techniques depending on the patient and their goals. Methods of delivery include, Mesotherapy Nappage Technique &/ Microneedling.

Patients must lead a relatively healthy lifestyle. Patients must be really hydrated before coming in for treatment.

Patients must send a clear picture of their veins prior to booking.

  • ENZYMATIC PEEL

An Enzymatic peel is a very gentle, yet incredibly powerful form of exfoliation. It is non-abrasive and delivers instant results by removing dead skin cells whilst simultaneously encouraging new cells to come to the surface. When massaged in to the skin, the natural multi-action enzymes rid the skin of dead cells and reveal a fresh complexion with no irritation or downtime.

  • MESOTHERAPY

Using a pharmaceutical blend of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, hydrators and more, we deliver this potent vial of magic intradermally (superficial) into skin in order to revitalise and rejuvenate. Expect brighter, tighter, refreshed, glowing and more youthful skin post treatment. Delivered via Nappage technique or in conjunction with Microneedling.

  • SKIN BOOSTERS

A skin booster is an injectable treatment that contains high levels of Hyaluronic acid. HA is a gel like substance that naturally occurs in our body but depletes with age. This often leads to drier, duller skin and loss of elasticity. They are NOT fillers. In the industry we commonly refer to them as ‘injectable moisturisers’, although this does do them a slight injustice as they do stimulate the fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin. They improve the quality of the skin, promote a rejuvenated and healthy glow, deeply hydrate, reduce the appearance of dry or crepey skin, they can also help to lift and tighten and add subtle volume due to their natural plumping effect.

  • ANTI-WRINKLE

Anti-Wrinkle injections work by relaxing the treated facial muscles to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The solution that we use is a prescribed medication, therefore consultations are always required.

  • POLYNUCLEOTIDES

Welcome to the future of skin regeneration. Polynucleotides are a new concept of regenerative medicine, they repair the cells and tissues of the deeper layers and surface of the skin. They are an injectable treatment that has revolutionised the way that we think about maintaining and promoting skin health.

The DNA fragments attract water molecules which work to improve skin hydration. They utilise an anti-free radical action, acting as a scavenger of the OH Hydroxyl radicals which accumulate as a result of stress, cell damage or external agents like UV rays.

Once filtered and purified, PNs mirror our own DNA and initiate our bodies natural fibroblast production. You can expect to see improvements in skin quality, thickness, skin elasticity/laxity, hydration, collagen synthesis and an overall revitalised appearance due to how they are able to repair damaged skin/cells.

ELECTRICAL TREATMENTS

Electrotherapy is the professional term for electrical facial treatments. It involves using electrical current to treat skin issues. The first record of electrotherapy practice dates back to the 19th century. As the machines and methods have progressed, electrical treatments have increased in popularity, often being documented by celebrities before events due to their fantastic results and minimal downtime.

At SJR Aesthetics we offer a range of electrical treatments including High Frequency, Hot/Cold treatment, and Ultrasonic Skin Spatula. All known for their anti-aging and many other benefits. Electrotherapy is included in every glow session.

  • HIGH FREQUENCY

High Frequency is an electrical skin treatment used to help treat and prevent stubborn acne, fade dark circles, decongest puffy eyes and reduce pore size etc. It kills bacteria and is anti inflammatory making it a fantastic treatment for acne sufferers.

  • ULTRASONIC SCRUBBER

The Ultrasonic Scrubber is a device that helps to clear out dead skin and debris. It uses ultrasonic waves that loosen up dead skin cell build up, providing deep cleansing and exfoliation. Great for stubborn and congested areas.

  • COLD TREATMENT

The Cold Plate is moved over the skin in order to soothe after any treatment that has worked and overheated the skin, e.g. Microneedling. In addition to this it also works by closing the pores and locking in moisture.

  • RADIO FREQUENCY

Radio Frequency also known as (RF) Therapy is a nonsurgical facial electrical treatment, used as a method of tightening the skin. The procedure is non-invasive, and it involves the use of energy waves to heat the deep layer of your skin known as your dermis.

RF helps the skin with a firming, lifting and tightening effect, through aiding the skins own ability to produce collagen. The RF can target skin concerns including wrinkles, sagging skin & acne scarring.

When the RF is applied to the area treated, it causes a molecular friction, producing heat. The actual source of the heat is the frictional resistance of the tissue. By doing this, the RF treatment can contract the collagen fibres, resulting in an immediate skin-tightening effect. It is delayed collagen synthesis, meaning the results are both instant and cumulative.

Fantastic around the eyes and neck/Décolletage.

  • ULTRASOUND

Ultrasound is a treatment also known as no-needle Mesotherapy. Serums are placed on the skin, the cocktail of ingredients such as peptides, hyaluronic acid, botanicals, homeopathic medications, plant extracts, vitamins, and other ingredients are then pushed in with the high frequency current. The machines high frequency allows the specialist cocktail of products to penetrate the skin and work directly at a cellular level with such little down time.

The treatment tones and tightens sagging skin, reduces fine lines and helps to repair free radical damage. It is a safe, natural alternative to invasive cosmetic procedures and is ideal for dry, dehydrated and dull skin or simply as a skin boost.

The transdermal delivery of vitamins, minerals and amino acids that decrease as we age, offers reduced sagging, cellular nutrition and anti-ageing properties to the skin.

Fantastic around lower face. Especially the jowel and chin area.

  • HYDRA-DERMABRASION

Micro-Dermabrasions’ much cooler and modernised younger cousin. Instead of using crystals which can be abrasive on the skin, this far gentler approach uses vacuum suction to clear pores of dirt, debris and bacteria while simultaneously pushing in potent actives, which hydrate, brighten and plump the skin.

  • MICROCURRENT

Microcurrent was originally used for patients with conditions such as Bell’s Palsy back in the 1980s, however, like with many treatments in the beauty industry, once the effects on the physical appearance were clear to see it become a staple in the world of facials. Using low levels of electrical current that flow through the muscles, we are able to essentially carry out a ‘facial work out, toning up the muscles. Think lifted and sculpted.

Cryotherapy

    • DEFINITION

A fast, effective, safe and new solution for the removal of skin imperfections. Our device emits a fine jet of Nitrous Oxide under high pressure, this allows us to work with millimetre precision.

The Nitrous Oxide destroys the tissue by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, this then ruptures the cell membrane, destroying the cell. This ensures no collateral damage to healthy tissue. No open wounds and risk of infection.

The removal of Skin Tags, Milia, Cherry Angiomas, Moles, Warts, Sebaceous Hyperplasia, Seborrheic Keratosis etc are classed as cosmetic procedures and are no longer being treated on the NHS due to this, so we are really excited to be able to offer this at the clinic’.

    Dermalux LED Phototherapy

    • DEFINITION

Phototherapy, meaning ‘Treatment with Light’ is the application of low-level light energy to stimulate or regulate biological process with proven therapeutic effects. The mechanism of action is a natural response similar to that of plant photo- synthesis through a process known as photobiomodulation.

LED Phototherapy is well evidenced for its regenerative and anti-inflammatory benefits without creating trauma making it safe and suitable for all skin types. The treatment involves exposing the skin to low levels of beneficial light energy from the visible and infrared part of the light spectrum.

Specific wavelengths interact with biological systems and activate key cell receptors which consequently trigger a transfer of light energy to cellular energy. Skin cells that are energised function better and can renew faster to promote youthful, healthy and radiant skin.

LED energy delivered via spectrally pure wavelengths stimulate the skin’s own repair mechanism, correct problem skin conditions and help to restore optimum skin function.

Successful treatment with LED Phototherapy is determined by delivering clinically proven wavelengths at an optimised intensity to maximise the light / chromophore interaction that allow for these specific cellular reactions to take place.

LED Phototherapy is now recognised as an essential modality for skin care practitioners and is well evidenced for the safe and effective treatment of a wide range of inflammatory and problematic skin conditions, accelerated wound healing and ageing skin indication.

    • OUR LED DEVICE

Dermalux Flex MD is a non-invasive treatment that delivers clinically proven therapeutic light energy for rejuvenating and corrective benefits. Specific wavelengths are absorbed by the skin to stimulate cell renewal and collagen production, resolve problem skin conditions such as acne and redness and accelerate skin healing. It is a safe and pain free treatment without downtime.

Following a single Flex MD session, clients can expect immediate improvement in skin tone, hydration and luminosity whilst the beneficial light simultaneously stimulates deeper cell processes for longer lasting benefits in the skin. For sensitive skin conditions, the Flex MD offers relief with redness and irritation.

The Flex MD is an essential treatment for optimum skin health and wellbeing as part of a regular skin care routine. It is also recommended in combination with skin treatments to enhance and accelerate results.

Dermalux Flex MD is a medically CE certified device for the treatment of acne, psoriasis, wound healing and musculoskeletal pain. Cosmetic indications include skin rejuvenation, pigmentation, redness and sensitive skin conditions.

With the Dermalux Flex MD, treatment results are cumulative, and sessions taken in close succession are generally recommended.

The number of treatments required to achieve optimum results may be subject to a number of factors which will be discussed during the consultation to manage client expectations.

These include age, skin type, severity of indication, lifestyle factors and other procedures that may be included in the overall treatment programme.

Dermalux easily integrates with other procedures to enhance treatment results, accelerate skin healing and minimise downtime. It can be combined with a wide range of procedures including skin peels, skin needling, mesotherapy, PRP, Radio Frequency and injectable treatments.

It will also advance the results of more traditional facial treatments, e.g. Medik8 Platinum & Calming facial.

It is particularly effective with resurfacing procedures where superficial layers of the stratum corneum (outer layer of

Skin) are removed. Dead skin cells create an uneven surface which increases the reflection of light. Creating a smooth and more homogenous surface allows light to pass through the protective barrier of the epidermis.

Applying Dermalux as a post treatment solution is proven to calm redness and irritation, relieve discomfort, minimise the risk of infection, improve bruise resolution and reduce downtime.
